St. John of God Special School

The St. John of God Special School was established in 1998 by the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God, an international religious organization dedicated to healthcare and social service, active in India since 1969. Initially started on a small scale, the institution has grown into one of India’s leading special schools.  In 2003, new facilities were inaugurated, featuring a modern, spacious, and well-equipped school; comfortable and homely hostels for different age groups and genders; canteens; a chapel; a vocational training centre; and specialized amenities like indoor and outdoor hydrotherapy, music, arts, physiotherapy, counselling, and sports facilities. The Special School and Vocational Training Centre presently serve around 230 students, with approximately 170 residing on campus and the rest attending as day scholars.
